Nine Years (!?!?!)

Today, Keith and I have been married for NINE years.

Some days, it feels like it’s been closer to 40 years, while others it seems like just yesterday, we were babies saying “I do,” in the park with our closest friends and family.

In the past nine years, we’ve traveled to 16 countries, more cities and states than I can keep track of, bought a house, two puppies, had two amazing babies, and somehow managed to continue to enjoy each others company.

He still makes me laugh more than any other human being, and I’m so very lucky to have him by my side no matter what.

Here’s to the next nine years, and all the years after that.

Just when I thought we couldn’t get any more boring….

We have big news.

Like really big news.

We’ve decided to cancel our cable.  I know, probably the biggest news you’ve excitedly read about all day/week/month/year.

Keith and I had spoken about cancelling our cable last year before I started working, mostly because it was a luxury for us and it was expensive.  Long story short, I called Verizon to cancel and as it turned out, we were stuck contractually until the end of June.

Sooooo, here we are, at the end of June, and we’re going to do it.

Now with the babies, we’re watching even less tv than we did pre-children. I kid you not, there are three shows that we watch pretty regularly (I’ll let you guess who watches which show), Teen Mom (1 & 2, as I ,ahem, the family member that watches it, doesn’t discriminate against ANY Teen Mom), Jeopardy, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

When I first  broke the news to Scout and Griffin that they’d have to follow updates on Kail, Jenelle, Chelsea, and Leah, on the internet only, they gave me a hard time, but eventually agreed that this was best for all of us.  We have netflix and plan to get a Hulu subscription, so we’re hoping we can piecemeal the essentials.

Tomorrow is the big day, I’ll be sure to update how we’re all surviving without our daily dose of Alex Trebek.

To be continued…….

Weekly Portrait of My Children 27/52

a weekly portrait of my children, every week, in 2016.

week twenty-seven // scout: has started stomping her feet when she’d like something a little quicker than she’s getting it, walks around the house with a phone on her shoulder saying “helloooo,” and when asked to get dressed yesterday, she replied “in a minute, mama.”  no idea where she got that.

week twenty-seven  // griffin: has started incorporating new moves into his dance catalog, gives the dogs treats and extra food when he thinks we’re not looking, and can polish off 8 ounces of water or juice in seconds flat.
